starship operation questions

There are some things I couldn't figure out last time I operated my cruiser:
How do you follow a ship that have just jumped? Do you have to try every other sector one by one?
How do you tell the other ships in your group to jump to the same destination?
Is there a way to plan moves on the Z-axis with the nav map?
How do you use radiocommunications with ships that have an ID number of 10 or greater?

thank you

To follow a ship thats jumped, your pretty much going to have to guess at it. Check the other systems in your nav map and see if it has been picked up by other friendly ships elsewhere before you jump. You can make an educated guess when you take a minute to narrow your choices.

To get a ship to jump to another sector you need to select the ship, select the sector where you want it to jump to, right click the map and add a nav point there. Set the ship to either use its Q-drive or farcaster from the nav point options and the ship will jump. You can only do this with ships under your command and it cant be done over the radio.

Sadly there is no way to set z-axis coordinates that I have found yet. The enemies dont really use the z-axis much so I have never really seen much use in doing this but it seems a little odd that it wasnt included in the game.

If the radio menu has more than one page, the number 9 will be labeled as "next".

I believe if you're within 5km of the jumping ship, you'll jump with it. Although usually if you're that close it's PD guns will be firing at you, so it's not such a good idea. ;)

ok, thank you :)
the Z-axis would have come in handy to make bracket attacks, or to avoid ennemy units.
As they don't use this axis either, I suppose the hegemony doesn't have this option on its interface. These future guys sure need to rework the fleet operations interfaces.

With jumping ships, the best thing to do is look over where hostile forces are before the mission, because usually the ships run to mommy
(their other ships)
