Captured casulties.

Hi Eric,

Following 2 post has screen dumps of a battle where i captured 32 US brigades.
When u look at the casulty report it says 19k US casulties. This is a first turn of Nov scn Southern Steel. So all the US brigades are full at 3k per brigade, minus about 50 men prolly in attrition moving into Fredriksburg. Still that 95k plus what i killed in those brigades that escaped. Casulty report says killed and captured.
It this working as intended not counting those captured troops?

Btw i can see a few reasons why in HW it shouldnt count captured troops.
3 minus point of casulty per captured brigade would end battles much sooner than now.
In this particular case it might have been an advantage to run sooner tho. [:D]

I have had quite a few battles with 30k+ captured troops and the "actual" casulties was to low for it to be a desicive battle. aka no change in national will. Seeems funny that the captured troops doesnt count in to make it a desicive battle. They are still lost.

Kind regards,

Rasmus

The US should just lose the game at that point!  [:)]

It's true that captured units don't count toward combat casualties, and this was the design we had.  I might consider counting them toward the decisive-battle calculation.  Capturing a unit could also lower a side's will-to-fight in detailed combat; maybe I'd count it as half-casualty though.

Sounds encouraging. I have a suggestion in the wish list for 50% surrender totals to be added to the casualty figures.

Sounds like a good idea.
