How's this for originality?

The American Football League, yes another AFL, is well under way in its inaugural season.

An American league of 8 man professional football. Played using the indoor rules and fields.

32 teams some indoor and some outdoor in the elements (It works I tell you). An 8-man, pass first league played outside in Chicago? The running game might play a part after all.

It is a 3 down, 3 minute quarter, every play counts kind of league. Fast, furious and faster.[&:]

Four divisions of 8 teams battle over an 18 game season and the top 8 teams (four div winners and the four highest point total as wildcards) will face off in the championship tourney.

I may have a best of three games tourney because the games are so short...but I haven't tried the playoff scheduler to see how that might work.

I'll provide details and league progress later.

David has done it. No more Madden, no more always the same football, no more style over substance video game football. This is very cool.

I think you should be able to schedule that best of three with no problem. I havent tried yet, but the scheduler is pretty open ended. I dont think the game actually keeps track of what teams play in the playoffs and whether they should or shouldnt play again.

It is a good idea to backup your league file before starting to seed the playoffs. I dont think you can delete games if you mess up, like I did the first time I used the scheduler.

I love following leagues like this, which is why I also play them. Look forward to seeing more.
