I've noticed over the years that people who play SSG games are studied, calm, intelligent individuals who are not always the noisiest or active forum participants, so we don't often get the 'OMG, teh game r0x0Rz!!111' postings.
Their online conversations are often espressed in the form of PBEM files.
However, there's some good discussion going on at Run5, which includes input from the SSG team, so it's well worth a visit:

We definately need some more scenarios, especially ones with AI, or there wont be many of us!
Look at TOAW, im sure one reason so many people play the game is the hundreds of scenarios available.

This is one of the reasons I will not be purchasing this game soon, releasing a game with only 4 scenario's is not a big attraction to me, no matter how good the game engine is.

I can understand the sentiment, BUT... I would encourage anyone who's put off by only four (now 6) scenarios to buy now and figure out how to play the game. There will be AI for Crusader & Islands Campaign as soon as I get a chance to work thru it (hopefully in the next week or two). There will be another half dozen scenarios out soon in addition to these. If you buy now, you'll be ready to play the others when they come out.

It is totally worth it guys.......dont let the 4 scen thing dissuade you from trying this little gem of a game. With the amount of time if takes to play a game, you really dont need too many scens to keep things interesting.

JSS, your point might be just enough to sway me. Thanks

The Run5 community has a great record of churning out scenarios for the DB series. I see no reason why it shouldn't be the same with BF too.
Meanwhile, the starting 4 are plenty enough to be going on with, at least if you're not much good like me [;)] Endless fascination, the game is just superb IMHO.

Waiting to see how the scenario situation plays out... 4 not enough... looking at the Run5 forum it looks like a helluva job to build scens. At this point in time it looks like only 1 AI-equipped scen is in the pipeline.

I'm playing this game and it's the best one I've bought in a long, long time. 4 scenarios is quite enough and well worth the money even if a single user made scen would not be made.

Yo, dont usually post on the matrix forum. Just thought id pop in and tell everyone that owns this game to go create an account over at RUN5 and start chatting on the forum. Get to know some of the people who have been playing SSG games for years and be prepared for the imminent release of the patch followed by lots of PBEM matches and tournaments. Good friendly banter (most of the time [8D]!!) pleanty of tactical discussions and AAR's plus the SSG developers are always willing to answer your questions and chat about the game. If you own any DB game or BF then i highly recommend signing up and digging in.
JSS is a god. [;)]

I don't understand the complain about the number of scenarios.
Few years ago we would have been happy to buy a boardgame box that included only one major operation: for example, the many boardgames about Ardennes, Market Garden or Gazala. These included a few minor scenarios based on the same operation, mainly as a training aid.
I prefer few, well researched scenarios, with correct OOB, and historically sound, than many which don't meet these requirements. What is the purpose of playing a wargame with scenarios with bad maps, incorrect OOB, and historically false? That's is how I feel about 95% of the free scenarios available for other computer titles/wargames that I will not mention.
I studied the scenario editor included in Battlefront, and I have to say that is very good. The problem is that putting out a quality scenario is not a quick job. It needs time.

I fully agree. I love this game. It's a true joy playing it and I recommend PBEM. It's much more satisfing than against AI (even losing is a lot of fun). The standard objection is that multiplayer requires time. I used to think in the same way but in fact PBEM is a very relaxing way to play. You start as many games you have time to play and no-one forces you to play turns every day.
