Cannot host on LAN

I recently bought Starshatter and I'm trying to play a multiplayer game with my brother on my LAN. Simply put, it doesn't work. In the multiplayer game menu, inputting the correct address/port lists the server as being 'offline', and doesn't let him join. I'm just trying to host a local lan server. We have no live internet connection when we try this, and all firewalls, etc. are disabled, and yet it still doesn't work. Could anyone point us in the right direction for solving this?
Thanks

I'm not interested in getting the game to work over the Internet. For the moment I would simply like to play with my brother on the LAN.
No internet connection , no firewalls , nothing but a simple LAN switch. Computer A has LAN IP 192.168.0.1 and computer B has LAN IP 192.168.0.2. All I want is to be able to play LAN-play with my brother but I can't get the hosted game to show up on the client system.
I've EXACTLY followed the instructions in the manual for LAN hosting (both types; with or without an internet connection) and no joy!
How can this be such an impossible question??
regards,

Sorry for the non responce. This must have gotten missed by the people who normally check the support areas.
I've fowarded your question on to the developer and hope to get a responce back soon.

I’ve talked with the developer, one of the things if you could check is to make sure that both PCs see each other on the network fully. Check your windows system to make sure the windows firewall isn’t active (The popup asking to allow or deny the program comes up behind the game so you wouldn’t always see it.)
If that fails here is what the developer sent me as a way to test (Using the default port settings):
I guess the first thing I'd check is the LAN itself. Try running the game as a dedicated LAN server
C:> Starshatter-TheGatheringStorm.exe -server
And then try to hit your server box using a web browser from
another game machine on the network -
http://192.168.0.1:11111/
If that works, then there's probably an issue with the LAN routing
UDP packets to the main game port 11100. Check your router
or switch settings to see if it has UDP enabled on that port.
Hope this helps. Let me know.
