40 man Rosters for MLB 2007 Uploaded

The final rosters for the beginning of 2007 for the MLB have been uploaded to PadresFan's PureSim site. Many thanks to PadresFan for hosting this file.

Some of the teams may have slightly less than a 40 man roster because I used the Base Prospectus to evaluate the rookies and some of the roster invitees weren't even on the Prospectus site. I decided that if I did not have any indication of performance I would just leave the player off the list because then all the player would be is a name.

Being a Giant Fan I have to say this will be a disappointing year ( 4th or 5th place in the NL west at best). Ironically, the team could have used this season as a rebuilding year with some promising new players instead of signing over-priced has-beens. Maybe Brian Sabean should buy a copy of Pure Sim and simulate a few seasons before spends too much on not enough talent.

Thank You for the 2007 rosters. When I try to start the spring, I receive a 60 man roster is needed. How do or what can I do to just use the 40 man roster? Just can't figure it out, back to PureSim, OOTP fun but takes too long to sim seasons, thanks for any advice

Unless I am missing something, there is no way to actually use these rosters... Each team has between 30-40 real players, but the game requires you to have 60 man rosters... Not sure what to do.

I sure can't figure out how to use a 60 man roster. If you try to fill a 60 man roster the AI screws all the players up, ie current major leagures sent to minors ect, ect.

I filled the rosters out with scrub players for the most part. The only problem was the free agents that remained unsigned. I tried to go through and force retire some players who publically announced their retirement. But in some cases the unsigned free agents ended up being drafted with the scrubs. The major league rosters I ended up with were pretty accurate however, and the a sim of the 2007 season is playing out in a believeable manner. For instance the Padres are in first place in the NL West and the Giants, after a very poor start, are now playing 500 ball and in third place, the Dodgers are in 4th place and Arizona is battlng SD for the division lead. Bonds home run pace is very similar to how it is playing out in the real-time MLB.

I can go through and try to fill in the rosters with more actual minor league players, but I won't be able to assess their performance, which will be random in nature.

Jonnie,

The problem is that when we load your PSA file, each team has 40 or less players which means A LOT of scrub players would need to be created, as your association is set to need 60 players. When you created the association, if you had set this to a lower number, like 35, we would have been ok. As it is now, we have no way of using this roster unless we manually create the scrub players ourselves and manually assign them to teams.

Padres Fan,

I forgot to specify the number of players when I set-up the league. However, I am in the process of adding enough players to each 40 man squad to make-up 60 players per organization. All the added players be actual players from each team's AAA and AA squads. I will then upload the file again, but it will be larger than before.

or....

Using MS Access, open the PSA database file, then open the Table called WORLD. Scroll to the column called ROSTER SIZE, and change the value from 60 to 35.
