Not to mention guy is LTC (Lieutenant Colonel) and not LCDR (Lieutenant Commander)...[:D] "You army pukes are only fit for coastal shipping"...would even make sense...[:D]

Yeah, I think he's an IJA defector from the leader bug.
Imagine that, an IJA Lt. Colonel commanding the Dutch submarine KVII. No wonder that sub would never shoot at anything. The captain stands at the periscope waving his samurai sword shouting obscenities, as the fire control officer stands there thinking, "WTF is he saying?".
