Once again we are to defend against an Italian assault. We have been working for the last month to strengthin our defenses. We have set up three rows of mines to help stop them.

The canadians have been given the center of the line. A is to there left on the north flank of them. In the south B comapny has been given that honor. All three companys will have at least 2 platoons of tanks on there flanks to help.

We should also have enough artty on call. They are to be held for us and our use only. Should get almost immediate reply when we call. We dont look for any major effort by the Italians today. As the VII legioneers just gave them a heck of a beating at Halfaya in September. Dont believe they could have gotten all the armor thay lost fighting them replaced as yet.

Its now 8:Oclock and we can hear them steering over on there side. Shouldnt be too long before this battle is begining. Vis is near 500 yards should help us some as they have to be well in range before they even begin to see us. The sky is clear and it is very pretty this time of year here. Almost seems a pity to tear it apart with war.

This battle ended all of a sudden. The Italians were comin at us and all of a sudden there gone. But they left an awful lot of junk behind them. We blew apart 83 of there tin cans. They were no match for our gunners and there more powerful guns. We did not lose one tank had a couple sustain slight damage. We only lost 36 men while we were killing 722 of there men. Also took out one artty plus 15 of there trucks.

Once again our victory was very lop sided. Dont know how they can stay in this war much longer at the rate they lose men and equipment. The really hard thing to understand about them is they keep coming while taking these hugh losses. They must really have some very kick ass non coms pushing them.

We have been told we will have at least 4 months off till next year. We are to move over to Msus and prepare ourselves to advance on the Italians once again. It seems to us the Germans are hiding from us and just dont want to face us as yet. Three battles and three very decisvive victorys for us. These men are the greatest fighters I have ever seen. They do not back down from anyone. Hell ill tell you I for one would not like to run into any of them in a dark alley anywheres.
