Just dusted off my copy of Talonsofts Battle of Britain in anticipation! [:D]

Same here. Just finished (or should I say had it finished for me) a 1941 campaign. For some reason the 8as score that I had didn't equate to the 8as minimum I needed to continue playing. Except for the necessary recon fu, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this game. Well, until the forced ending that is.

you two should a short AAR on how your battle goes, and then maybe I can follow suit with how the new game works

I am NOT skilled enough in the mechanics of this game to post an AAR....seriously.

oh, wasn't saying for you to show off, just to show your plotting and thinking and how it turns out, then we could compare the two

my trouble right now is, I can't take the time to really get into a AAR with style, while I am watching and testing for things

Just manage to procur a replacement BoB copy here in NZ hopefully looking to fire it up tonight ..... first thing will be patches for it I suppose any suggestions where to get them from or if someone has them can they fire em thru to crocky@inet.net.nz ..... Cheers in advance

Started a campaign damned thing has crasghed about 5 times so far in the first day .....[:(]

make sure you set the game to think it is playing on Windows 95 or 98
 
go to the short cut, and click on property, then go the last tab

Have not played it in a few years but it was interesting. Although it always felt abstract or I don't know how to put it but didn't feel like I was in control and no personal satisfaction.
 
I tried to get Bombing the Reich but never got around to it.
 
Hopefully the new games will have more of a personal feel to them.

good glad to hear, I would still say to save often though, just in case, the times I was playing it later on, I didn't have any trouble with it crashing, but you never know

Hmm, I am not sure how to say if we got a personal feel to it or not, I think that gets down to more the player then the game, I know when I play, I get very attached to my pilots and units, but I don't think everyone plays games like I do

Yes I can see that. It was overwhelming to get started but all the details were serious fun in a hardcore way.
 
Not sure if personal was the right word but very interesting game and none like it that I know of. I will get BTR this round though.

it is a longer ranged Stuka, it carried 2 300 liter drop tanks instead of outer bombs
 
the Berta had a range of 550 km
 
the Richard had a range of 1255 (along with a extra 150 liters in the inner wing panels)
 
they were around and in use at the time

Ju 87R was carrying two 150-liter drop tanks and 240-liter tank in each wing.

Other sources ar saying it had two 300 liter droptanks[&:]

I got a lot of Pics of them, those look like 300s, they are big !
 
my books are saying besides the drop tanks, they were able to add inner wing tanks which added 150 liters of fuel
 
the Rs were more used in the Med, but were around during BoB
