I'm waiting for the next patch/update before I try my next game of BoA, but is this forum shrinking? I could swear there was more than 1 page worth of posts.
Whats going on?

It would be reasonable to assume that some significant number of BoA owners moved on and purchased A-ACW. Thus, they have switched their focus.
The other likely explanation is that new customers (in this case Matrix purchasers) post much more than existing customers. Thus, even though quite a few people continue to play the game, forum posts will tend to diminish.

I encourage all BoA players and others with comments and questions to frequent AGEOD's forums.
Personally, I would have preferred Matrix to have simply linked to them instead of creating a "rump forum." It's incomplete, misleading, and a dead end.

I think that would've been a better idea...

I think it could be argued both ways as to whether to redirect or have a local forum. I think as long as people are aware of the developer's forum existence, then we have the best of both. (In my link's sticky, the AGEOD Forums was my very first link so noted.)
It's mainly a question of community which you identify with: Matrix games or AGEOD (the developer). For this game to discuss, I am more likely to go off to AGEOD, than here. For SH3/SH4 which I just purchased, I am more likely to go to Subsim than UBI. So, such choices of identification with communities are fairly common with most games. Others, prefer to discuss their games at the Wargamer or SIMHQ.

OT, but SHIV...has it been sorted out yet?
I have SHIII with the very excellent mod, and I was thinking about buying SHIV, but it seems to have been released in a right mess. Trouble is, over at SubSim, you seem to have, mostly, two groups of people
[ol][*]fanbois of the game who, regardless of issues, continue to praise the game and the developers/publishers and conitnually accuse people of having problems as either making them up or being pirates[*]people who just want to whinge, regardless of how large or small the problem might be.[/ol]Trouble is, I think UBISoft shot themselves in the foot by not telling people about FADE...because alot of people assumed the game was bugged to hell. Whereas, had they informed people of FADE, people who pirated the game would've discovered it to be true and dumped it
So...how is it nowadays?

Sorry, I cannot really answer your question. I just recently bought a new PC and SH3/SH4. However, I am only learning SH3 at the moment.
I have yet to complete my Naval Academy exams in SH3. I still have the convoy test to pass.
However, I believe the devs and the modders will ultimately make SH4 a worthwhile game. I don't really care if it takes a year; I have other things to play.

I was going to go ahead and add a link to their forum, but it seems to be down today. Will add a link tomorrow.

Anyone new to SH3 would be well-advised to check-out the forum titled Main Page, SH3 Community Manual, and look under Contents/Naval Academy, at
http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii/i ... =Main_Page
For example, you have to click "exam" to transfer points to your U-boat career mode after successfully completing the Naval Academy tutorials. Please read below:
The exam screen interface can be a bit confusing. There is a bug / oversight where you will not get credit if you start a mission with the word "training" highlighted. You MUST highlight "exam" before you start the mission. Some people play the training missions dozens of times before they finally head to the forums to find out why they didn't get credit. Well, now you know better!
Also, you have to be careful on exactly what to click-on in order to get your equipment updated, etc.
Let us know how SH4 works out.
