NATO -style counters?

Hi I'm totally new to this game -I saw a screenshot of a detailed battle without the sprites - just NATO -style counters - how do I acess these instead of the sprites?

I found it - think its hit enter or plus sign on the keypad.

What...at the start of every battle?
Is there any way of setting it as a preference?

You have to manually toggle it at battle start. No idea if you can set it as preferance.

Hmm! tried hitting enter during my last battle and nothing happened. Perhpas I should have pressed the + key instead.
Can't believe its not an option somewhere[&:]

Much belated reply - it is either control and + or shift and +
Either way, once you set it to one style or the other, it remains that way for the duration of that play session. It seems to default back to horse and pittle soldiers if you close down the game.
I prefer the "Nato" units as well...
