Great game so far, and I just spent the past couple of days earning my stripes in the cockpit of fighters and bombers and now, as a Lieutenant Commander, I was told in the promotion screen that I can transfer to a destroyer command if I Want, but when I go to the section listing the various carrier, cruiser and destroyer commands in the system, the transfer button is greyed out. I've even tried clicking on each group in turn, but the button remains greyed.

Of course, I've just got done reading another thread here on how useless frigates are versus fighters/bombers with ASMs, so maybe it's a sign, haha.

I jsut had to figure this otu on my own because it's really not covered that well in the manual (so rtfm doesn't really apply) but you have to make sure you expand the groups. That bullet point is not a bullet point, it's a tree expander.

Yeah I figured that one out myself too about the bulletpoints, but I even went through each ship, clicking on it and seeing if the transfer button would stop being greyed out, but no luck.     

The transfer button should only be greyed out on hostile ships and LCA's. Anything else you can REQUEST a transfer to, but you have to be the right rank. Maybe reinstall the game?

If you're still having trouble, remember that you can only transfer to a DESRON, incidentally, not to a CRURON or to a carrier group.  For instance, you won't be able to transfer to a destroyer or frigate in the Archon's formation: you have to transfer to a frigate or destroyer in a different squadron.
