Wow, that was rough! but I'm finally downloading the game as I type.

See my post about "IMPORTANT me, us army, where i'm stationed" as it's sort of a prequel to this post.

I had to run my IP through a proxy based in the U.S.(9.99 through megaproxy) and that would take me as far as the confirming my bank screen. I was clueless as here it would stop, and do nothing. I had to go do our morning PT session,just got back and messed around with the settings on megaproxy, had to block javascript and now finally I can download. I'm all ge-giggity in my ge-flavvity


p.s. my download speed is about 230Kbs, and is going to take about 2 hours, mwa ha ha I'll be playing by lunch(it's 0830 where I'm at right now)

I have a 51.2Kbs DSL connection and started downloading at 9:15 last night and expected to have it ready to install this morning but for some reason (I'm assuming time-sharing with the rest of you that are downloading [:@]) I'm only getting around 29Kbs and it's been going for 13 hrs and it says still 6 to go [:(]...
I had the day off too. I should have been fragging aliens by now. I've waited years for this (X-com just may be my favorite game of all time) so a few more hours shouldn't kill me [:'(]

Oh well, a few more Black Butte Porters should get me through the afternoon...

more like you should have been getting fragged by aliens by now...them suckers are hard! had some big mean looking/down-syndrome looking alien come and melee a tank to death in the 3rd round of my first tactical mission
