It broke!!

The game was working fine a few hours ago, in fact it was running perfectly. Now for some reason the game is crashing on me in less than a minute. I noticed if I'm in Geoscape there's a UFO on the screen, the game will crash every time the UFO hits a certain point. At first I figured my save got corrupt, so I reloaded from a previous save at the end of a raid mission. When I go to equip my soldiers an error pops up:

Image

After the crash it gives me a crashlog, here's the last part of what it says: [00:02:40.428] Waiting for sounds to stop playing
[00:02:40.933] Done waiting for messages.
[00:02:41.599] scripts done
[00:02:41.599] Switching console to window output
[00:02:42.221] graphics done
[00:02:42.222] input done
[00:02:42.222] event done
[00:02:42.222] Exiting with error

I have attached my dxdiag although I doubt it has anything to do with it. I'm wondering if that UFO (UFO-15 to be exact) is causing the problem.. I may try to reload from a even more previous save, although that would set me back a couple of hours :( I have already tried to reinstall the game, same thing happens.

Ok... I just tried to start a new game all together and the same thing is happening.   If I pick up a weapon while eqiupping soldiers, it will give the same error message as shown in the screenshot and crash~   My game is just completely broken :(

That equipment error was reported to be caused by playing in widescreen resolutions
(most people don't have encounter it though). Try to change the res to 4:3.

Hmm...Ok that fixed the eqiupment screen~   It's still crashing when the UFO hits a certain spot though.    :(

Based on your DxDiag, your sound driver is from 2004 and your video driver is about six months old. My first recommendation would be to update both. Second recommendation, based on other comments so far, is to try disabling anti-aliasing and see if that helps.

I think I figured it out....   The UFO was causing the crashes at the exact same spot...why?  Because there was *supposed* to be an alien base there, but I took care of it before it could properly eqiup or something.   I noticed that the UFO could be seen before I even detected it, I could watch it fly almost halfway across the planet before it gave me the notice of it being there.   So I suppose it's just a bug...  I had to do the base over again, but at least I can play now :)

I guess the lesson would be to let the alien base actually prepare itself before heading into battle.

Same thing is happening with me. I can't move weapons around without the game crashing on me.

Disabled Anti-Aliasing as well.

Problem Solved: The error does not occur in Full Screen Mode, only in Windows Mode.
