build a new base, right away (maybe a mistake)

see a scout, it gets away, see a fighter, we trade damage, see a scout, and knock it down (oh boy)

one trooper drops from blood loss, another takes some heavy damage, my Spirit does well

win first battle and give my Smart boys some new things to think about

trade shots with a few more scouts but they get away

finally knock down another scout

2 new troops in Action, Jack Daniels, and Sherry Babe

learn in a hurry to carry more stimpaks

we kick butt, but Ron HS Lorence, can't hit the board side of a battlewagon with that rocket laucher he carries

lots of jokes about how his quick thinking saved the day, without his rocket blowing all the leaves off of that Tree, Jack may never of seen the last Alien in time to kill him (it ?) before he would fired

end of month, get some more money, and get to work, add a new Fighter, buy another Spirit, and a 2nd lab, and some rocket defences to the two bases, add a detection center at the new base also

get a new Trooper

Buildings can be fun, and can be a pain !

fire some rounds into the wall on auto fire, just for fun, nice holes are blown though it

and then the Alien runs past the opening

Ron brought along some stun rockets, as we got our new Alien pen build, carefully he aims at this new target, remembering, how his last shot a few minutes ago, had bearly traveled 20 feet before blowing a large hole in the ground almost at his feet

a perfect squeese, and the rocket blasts off down the tube, and again explodes no more then 20 feet away

Jack turns and fires from the hip, but his rounds seem to be attacted to the red haze of the stun rocket, Erik gets off a few rounds, which seem to hit there mark, but the Alien still stands

with a roar, the Alien charges towards the Troopers and then falls on his face

either blood loss from Erik, or he got too close to the stun cloud ?, either way, we will take it

move towards the next building

spead out and stay low, Erik sees the round hit the wall above his head, but not where it came from, the spirt turns and rushes back towards the troopers from his little recon run, and there against the wall, another of them Hulking greythings, a rocket ends the threat

the troopers again spead out and get low, the Spirit turns and again begins its hunt, when another round comes from out of nowhere, and rips into Eriks leg

and then he spots the Hoverer by the wall

Sherry throws 3 Grenades, but, Sherry throws like a girl, all 3 miss, Ron moves into range and sights down his barrel at the new Alien, and notices that Sherry is not only all but right in front of him, but dang near 20 feet right in front of him

aims, and fires, and watches as the rocket blures past Sherry, only to sail right past the Alien, and explode again the wall, 20 feet behind him, and again, his blast reveals another of the greybeasts, Jack fires and kills this one

with a howl of Glee, the hoverer turns and lower his weapon, but Ron is a hair quicker, and his last rocket, flys right into the chest of the Alien

then from the side, out of the spacecraft, another of the Greys charges out screaming, only to see the spirit at the last second, spins and fires 2 shots wildly, only to be ripped apart by the almost point blank return fire

and then all is quiet

we have won, they have lost, and we got a prize

Hey, thanks... I think. [;)] (Ouch, getting shot in the leg hurts!)

But it may not be a good idea, to be tossing things that go boom, inside of a UFO

Dang that Erik comes around in the world.

inside UFOs can be mean fights, but afterward, they kind of mean too

Erik a Catcher ? naw, he a sickbay commando so far

now we getting some where, just went off after a scout, then another scout shows up, so I split my fighters, and then another scout shows up, and then a fighter, I end up with 2 crashed scouts and another scout down in the water

clean out the two crash sites, return to base and another scout is knocked down

thinking I should get a good paycheck this month

It's sounding too easy so far...is it?...and oh how I wish there would something under Units Lost...I guess that would only happen if you lost the whole team [:(]

well, been seeing and knocking down a few scouts, I got 3 bases and 4 Fighters right now, so if I can catch them in a cross fire, they in trouble
 
I have knocked down 1 fighter over land and 1 over the sea (I think I got him)
 
I not seen anything bigger yet, and most fighters just leave when they feel like it
 
so, over all, I am not ruleing the airwaves
 
for losses, I think that is for the Weapon platform and stuff
 
I think the not dieing, persay, works for this game, the battles only let you have a few men, and easy to get hit, and most times, what is a "kill" in the game is blood loss, what in the old game would be seen as uncon

Oh its not easy lol. This is a pic of my troops after 4 missions. If another UFO comes in the next 10 days im screwed!!! This is on easy! I have to wait 10 days for 2 of them to recover!

Hard Sarge is quite possibly the best tactical genius on the boards. Read my 2nd AAR if you think it's easy. Note: I have beaten both X-Coms on high difficulty levels and I'm getting eaten alive.

I've developed some tactics but still finding it hard. Better weapons are right around the corner but I'm sure the same is true of the aliens. I'm terrified that something bigger than a fighter will show up.

had the Aliens build a base, figured it was time to go hunting, Erik and Jack had just got out of sickbay, and it was time to put them to work

Good crew, in fact, my best crew, Sarge, Sherry, Erik and Jack, not to mention Malcom the Tanker

nasty battle, bloody battle, lots of Aliens

but in the end, we take the base, and the one of our States has been freed

Yea, just took over a Cruiser that had landed on the ground (well, where else would it land)
 
with out a dent (well, the Tank took a few well place shots, but they sort of bounced so the tank came out okay too)
 
funny, got my Beehive Armor for my best troop, she got her lazer Rifle and fancy Chem nades, but it was Kelly with her Shotgun that did most of the dirty work

them bases can hold alot of troops

these shots don't really show how many of the horde was seen in action that day

and that was all as I came in the first door

and the other hallway

and I am still less then 50 steps away from the first door
