I am not getting any sounds other than music and the bleep sound when you click on a menu. I noticed it first when I had no sound during the intro movie. Not sure what is up but hope someone can help. Attached is my dxdiag. Thanks.

Well...on a whim, I pulled it, re-downloaded the file from Matrix, than reloaded it onto the computer. Still no sound except for music. Anyone have any ideas at all?

Hm, I had it working on a system with an Audigy and your drivers look recent enough (August, 2006) that I wouldn't expect a problem. You should still see if there's a more recent driver though as the Audigy 2 certainly did have some driver issues. I would try uninstalling the existing drivers and reinstalling the latest so that you get the default settings to be reset in case something was changed that affected this. If that doesn't work, try adjusting the sound hardware acceleration via DxDiag to see if there's any setting where the game plays music again.

Nope brother...tain't the problem... the problem is, I'm a dumba$$. [8|] Yep...I'll admit it. Ya see, I recently purchased a set of desktop speakers because my 7.1s wont fit in the room i have...yet. I jacked into the wrong connector on the sound card. Not sure why I didnt think of it before. More times than not, its the simple reasons that bite you in the bum. Oh well, she working like a champ. However, now that I have had the opportunity to listen to the intro movie, I think I will be hitting the esc key to get stuck right in. Whatever English teacher they had write that script for them should be shot. [:D] Thanks for the input and suggestion. What little I played up to this point I have liked. Brings back fond memories of the old X-com.
