Game plays fine, seems to save OK. Loading game save causes CTD every time.

Could you upload that crash-causing saved game here?
Saves are in data\saves\slotX directories.

I'm sorry, but I deleted it and started over. However, I did some experimenting, and found that as long as I keep the save file name a certain length, no more CTD's occur. The initial save had only three alphanumerics, whereas subsequent ones are five alphanumerics or longer - no more CTD's since.
Seems strange, but it's the only thing I've done differently, and it works...so I'm a happy camper...

I am having this same problem, and can (apparently) confirm the filename fix. Although I had a "clean" save that I could load, any savegame I made from that point would fail to load. Saving games with five characters in the filename seems to work.
But here's where things get interesting: I decided to see if I could narrow down how many characters in the filename caused the problem by creating new saves with decreasing name lengths. In the course of messing around, I discovered that I couldn't replicate the problem--suddenly I'm no longer able to create corrupted saves. I'll load the same old, unaltered, savegame from which I was originally able to create bad saves, and now nothing. Same for any other (working) savegame. The corrupt saves are still corrupt (I've saved a couple) but I can't make any more.
The above seems a little confusing, so to restate it: I had several saves that would load, but all new saves I made from them were corrupt. I created a save with five characters in the name, and it was not corrupt. After that, EVERY save I made, no matter which game I loaded to start the game, was NOT corrupt. I kept a couple of the corrupt saves, and they are still corrupt.
I'd like to attach a copy of the save here, but it won't let me upload the file. I saw someone else mention they had to rename a savegame as a ".txt" file, but, uh, apparently I don't know how to do that...just keep creating a file called "game.txt.sav" [:o] So if anyone knows what I'm doing wrong there, let me know. Anyway, I'm attaching a copy of the error log.

Hm! I spoke too soon. Problem popped back up. I did a bunch more messing around, and now it looks like it's associated with selling my raider. No sale = no corrupt save. I'm pretty sure that would be consistent with my earlier problems and apparent solutions. I had sold the old raider before the problem cropped up, and in my hurry to try the filename fix, I skipped some of the base management stuff I'd been doing. Looks like that just happened to coincide with me trying the five-character filenames. In fact, if I load the game, sell the raider, and save the game even with a five-character name, it still gets corrupted. Oops... [:o]
So anyway, yeah. In my case, it looks like I'm stuck with a spare raider for a while at least. And again, if anyone can tell Windows-challenged me how to rename a savegame file to get rid of that pesky .sav so I can attach it here, I'd appreciate it.
