Toggle Menus

For lack of a better description, I call those things toggle menus and mine doesn't work anymore. I've recently upgraded IE to 6.0, but since I did I lost the toggle menus working. I've tried a few things and it's stumping me. What I'm talking about, is those pull down menus that are pulled down by clicking on a down arrow. Once the selection is made the website should direct straight to that selection, but instead the pull down closes and just stays where it is. Can anybody help with this? I've tried it on more than one website too, so I know it's not the website. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Do you have Javascript / Scripting activated or not ?

Marc Schwanebeck [GS_Marcks]: Thanks for the reply. I don't even know how you check for that. I was thinking it would be in internet options, advanced, but I can't heads or tails of anything to do with scripting there.

Scripting and Javascript are turned on by default, so that´s not the problem <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
Have to make a search on the matter....

Marc: I wouldn't count on me having them on, default or no default, as I was thinking you wouldn't want scripting on as it made your computer much more vulnerable, or maybe I'm getting that mixed up with something else. In any case I think I may had changed it off the defaults. Why don't you run by me what the scripting ones are and I will see if I have them on or not? There's one that's called 'disable script debugging', which I've checked, which might be it, but I tried unchecking it and applying that change, and the problem was still there.

Nevermind, I got it working again. The majority of anything Java or scrpiting related lies within the security area, which I didn't think of looking in because I didn't wish to cutomize it. Apparently I was completely comfortable changing it after downloading the upgrade and just forgot I had (assuming that the upgrade has this stuff on as default). I'm still leery about having anything on with the word scripting about it. I managed to access a link to Microsoft support FAQ in fixing a prior IE problem, and it pointed me the way. Thanks.
