I know that this question has probably been asked to death but, I have'nt seen it on the web site answered yet. So can one of you superstars help me out??? here's the question: I want to play (SPWaW ver 4.1) via e-mail but the manuals not real clear (at least to me) as to how to do this. (In a step-by-step way for us yutzes)... :-)
Anyway, it says something about sending three files (EMAIL10.DAT, EMAIL10.CMT, and EMAIL10.AUX) to the other player but the only file thats in the "email" folder in the game when i try to do this is the "EMAIL10.AUX" file.So can one of you guys, (or gals) send me a step-by-step guide to follow so my friend and I can play??? It would be GREATELY appreciated.... THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU, THANK-YOU!!!!!! (sheldons01@earthlink.net) <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

1.Update to version 6.1 (optional but really suggested)

2.Make sure you both have same versions.

3.Then make sure you both got same OOB's(atleast on lands which you play as for example germany and russia). If neither of you have tempered with your OOB's don't bother on this point. But if you do send that OOB which you/him has edited so that other side can view it thru and accept it. Then you/he make folder stock OOB and Edited OOB to yer SPWAW folder. To stock OOB you put all ORIGINAL OOB's and to edited OOB you should allready know what to put. Then you add that edited OOB list to that root folder of SPWAW where are those OOB's whick program uses. It will prompt on upgrade and you press accept. And now you should be able to play. After game you can then return original OOB's just by using copy/paste from stock OOB foder to SPWAW root folder. Ofcourse preferance would be original OOB but they still unfortunately include some things which I personally don't like. It's up to you what to do about this. And to remind 6.1 still has best original OOB's so far.

4. For Email game to work:

-First step (if you are starter of game or player 1 on other words). You will set up all those preferences/map you hava agreed with you opponent.

- Secondly you will make your purchase and after that choose password(which you should put to some place to remember it)

-Then you go to SPWAW root folder and to directory EMAIL from where you can find 4 files. Compress(for example pack with winzip )those four files(.rec,.dat,.ctm,.aux)

- Send this pack to you friend via e-mail

- He unzips it to his email folder and goes to pbem game screen.Loads save game. Puchases, makes his password and sets up his units for first turn. Then he zips his pagage and send it to you.

- Now you unzip that pack. Load save. Use yer password. Set up yout troops.Play your first turn.

If there was any mistakes I don't really care and ask someone else to correct you. Maybe someone even will post this as permanent topic for all those who still keep asking this.

P.S.For god's sake read those damn manuals. YES ALL IS ANSWERED THERE YOU JUST LOOK FROM WRONG PLACE. And if for some reason you still don't find it LOOK AGAIN. Then consult FAQ. THEN READ THAT MANUAL AGAIN ATLEAST TEN(10) TIMES AND IF YOU STILL CAN'T FIND IT COME AND ASK HERE.

P.S.2. Sorry for me losing it,typing childishly and for making those damn typos. Yes I was rookie once but I can't help but to be really anoyed by them now.
