Error Problem

I downloaded both CE 2 and 5 versions and they installed ok but when I attempted to start the program I got this error:
ERROR - The DirectX interface could not be initialized. ERROR - ActiveX component cannot create object.
Please make sure you have DirectX 8.0 or higher.
I am running Vista and do have DirectX Version 10 installed. I was running v1.51 of PureSim Baseball.
The game ran fine without any problems at all prior to the patch installations. Thanks for any help you can give.

Try re-running the install as Administrator.
(Right click on the Install and choose "Run as Administrator")
A reboot may be required as well.

Thank you. I just uninstalled the program and then re-loaded the basic version, version 1.51, CE2, and then CE5. I re-booted during each installation and still get the same error. I ran all installations as Administrator and even tried executing the program as Administrator with no luck.
Any other ideas? Mike

This is very frustrating. I uninstalled the program again and used "regedit" to remove all references to Puresim. I loaded version 1 and then version 1.51 and now THAT won't even work. I hit the play button and although I get no error, nothing happens. The program does not even attempt to load. I re-booted during each install, ran as Administrator and as User and nothing seems to work. It's frustrating because version 1.51 worked fine and I was playing the game continually without problems prior to trying to switch to the CE version. Now I can't get any version to work. I turned off my spyware and virus programs prior to installations and during the attempted executions but nothing worked. HELP - please. Thanks
