All stats MAX and cannot continu

I've got a problem with leveling... one of my soldier got level-up but with only two points all it's stats where at MAX, that's left three points unused but the game said that i have to spend all points before leaving... I'ved to push ALT-F4 to exit because there's nothing I can do to continu...

What's the conclusion on this question? If you have maxed out on all of the categories, and there are left over points to "spend", can you continue the game?

It seems to vary...one trooper maxed out in strength at 89 while amother maxed out at 93...I know that if I forget to place a point, a pop up message comes up saying that you need to allocate all the points, so does this become a problem if you still have points remaining, but cannot allocate them because all categories are maxed or not? Surely someone other than the original poster must have come across this? As for me, I'm getting close to maxing out a couple of my soldiers, so I want to know if a problem will occur or not....

It's only a problem if you cheat somehow, either raising their stats (but not the max) in the savegame, or increasing the number of possible ranks by a lot.
As it is, there's more than enough room for stats to be improved before reaching the max rank. Because the improvement is fixed, based on the intial stats. It's like the orignal stat + 52 (which is 13 increases).

I notice that one of the mods causes faster promotions by adjusting the experience points so if you consider that cheating, so be it.....the original question raised by the poster still has not been answered...if you max out all of your categories, will you be prevented from advancing the game if you cannot allocate any more of the points?
