Looking at Purchasing This Game - I have some questions

Hey guys, As the title implies, I'm thinking about getting this game, and I have a few questions to ask.

1) I understand the whole licensing deal with this game, but I understand that you can pick the locations and nicknames of teams when you start a league, so it is easily conceivable that i could create all 32 teams with accurate names? Likewise, is it possible to say, start out with 16 teams, and add teams to the league as the seasons progress? ie expansion teams?

2) How friendly is the league creator with a college football style set up?

3) Online leagues - I know you guys have them, is it possible to add expansion teams within those online leagues? I'd be interested in playing in one of them if possible :)

that should about cover it for now, thanks in advance for your time and answers :)

Regards,
Patrick

some answers.

1. You can set up a league, with any number of teams, they can be from any city you want, the team name can be anything you want. IE I have set up an early 60s NFL league with the 16 NFL teams from that era with the correct city and team names. You can also find most NFL uniforms for the game at FBmax.com (most NFL, AFL, area teams and all division 1A college teams). I havent expanded a league yet but I believe others have and it should be easy with the game.

2. You can set up college leagues, but the biggest problem that I see is the schedule. Right now the game with only generate a simple round robin type schedule. But the game also has a schedule editor so you can modify it. IE I set up a super college league of 48 teams, 4 conferences/divisions of 12 teams each. The plan is to have a 12 game regular season schedule, one non conference game and 11 conference games, one vs each team in the conference, then playoffs.

3. There arent many online leagues as of yet as the game is still making progress, but I have seen that the ones that are going have made expansions.

What nmleague said.

After the championship game is played, there is a window of opportunity to expand, contract, change divisional lineups, league rules, etc. When you are ready to go, you click the "Start New Season" button and it locks everything in and you are ready for the next season.

As for expansion, you can actually delete a team, or just remove it from league play...kinda like the Ottawa Renegades :-) and reinstate it for play later.

Im in the PIFL, an online league, and we expanded from 8 to 12 teams for season 2.
There is no special draft for expansion, new teams are added to the order and you draft as usual.

Awesome...remember..save your purchase order email, with your serial number and other info. Print the stuff out or write it down.

Once you download the actual game, the only other update you will need is the most recent, which is the 1.3.176 patch

www.fbmax.com has lots of plays, uniforms and goodies
