Boeing 314 Clipper/Empire Flying Boat change

I have converted the PanAm Boeing 314 flight to using Coronado flying boats.

I have changed the Empire Flying Boat from a dual aircraft to a single aircraft designation - and the full name
will now appear.

The Coronado better approximates the range and payload of the 314 and it is perfectly correct as to plane type.
The problem is it isn't available soon enough. But the game permits us to use this one flight "too soon." It also
is possible to disarm the aircraft in the unit - and I have done so. It is possible bye and bye (AFTER the Coronado enters production) to convert the unit to another type of plane - and then convert back to Coronado and gain weapons. In that case one might want to imagine the Clippers were "armed" - which could have been done. If you don't like that - don't do that.

Sound idea..Lemme ask you a question..I am really new to using the editor and noticed when creating the USAAF 3rd Attack Group, (under Col "Big Jim Davis and "Pappy Gunn"), that the editor allows assigning B 25's and then gives a line for the weapons..Does this mean if I give it 10 forward firing .50's, that this one particular unit will show up with this particular armament?
Further, in making the plane a torpedo bomber, my theory is that this one particular unit will not suffer the low altitude morale hit, and instead of torps, I am arming it with 10x100Lb bombs..What do you think??
(If this is not misused, I can also point out a Japanese bomber unit that employed low-level strike missions, ala skip-bombing, but less famous).
I defer to your great knowledge.

(Did not toally hijack the thread, I like your proposal)..[:D]

We do this all the time in RHS - we call it "different loadouts"

but it has peculiar effects:

1) Any time an air unit upgrades to a type, it gets the "default loadout" in the aircraft data base

2) Any time a code function applies, the loadout gets replaced anyway. Thus putting more than one torpedo on the Mavis in CHS didn't allow it to drop more than one torpedo. And a minelaying mission always carriers mines - stuff like that.

3) You cannot see the unit loadout anywhere - although it does get used. Guns will ALWAYS get used (or not used if you delete them - as my Coronado cum Boeing 314 above does - I run the plane with no guns). The UNIT defines the guns - not the plane database. Weapons of other types are more complicated. BECAUSE you cannot see the loadout, RHS uses names of the unit to tell players the special loadout: things like AP for Armor Piercing bombs or T for torpedo.

4) A player can "convert" a unit from your loadout to the standard one by a double conversion - first to another type - than to this type again.

Thank you..In the case of this particular USAAF unit, I see no reason to allow it "upgrades".
