Just bought CoG today. None of the manuals will open! Wouldn't right after the download/install. Won't after the two patches. Ideas? Please help!
Thanks.

At the risk of sounding stupid, you do have Adobe Reader installed, right?

Thought I wrote back to this. Guess it didn't go through or something. Yes, obvioulsy Acrobat is installed. Thin the problem goes back to some trouble I've had with a 1 GB Memorex flash drive. Seems to make two or three things kinda squirrely (including restart!). So, thanks for the input anyway. Really appreciate it.

I am having exactly the same problem. Abode 8.1 installed and version 1.2.25 og COG. I cannot open the manuals through either the main menu nor via the pdf file in the game. Help please

Like I mentioned, mine was from a weird flashdrive problem. Try this: unplug any un-needed USB 'appliances' [:)] Restart the computer. Open the manual from inside the CoG folder (or make a shortcut to the manual on the desktop). Just double-click it and let Acrobat open it. Worked for me. Had the same problem with JTCS and CAW as well. Now, I never use the menu at the start of the games. Always the above method. Hope this helps.

I have nothing else open at all. No matter what means to I use to open the manuals, nothing happens. I tried reinstalling game and Adobe - no effect.
And how can you tell which is the latest version of the manual? thank you

[:D]I had the same problem. Don't try to open the manuals from the game menu. Open your Acrobat, then open the file. They are in Matrix Games/Crown of Glory/Manuals

I don't know much about Adobe Acrobat.  I use Foxit to read PDF files; if you can't get Acrobat to work you might give it a try, it's a small free program, and (at least on my machine) it loads faster than Acrobat:
