I saw in the editor all the fun things to add and subtract, but not how to change the "ships" data... is that hard coded?
I wantto make Yamatto a super battleship, unsinkable by subs and generally play around ???

Making a ship involves two things, editing the Ship Class and then the ship itself. The Yamato is in the game, load the Philippine Sea scenario in the Editor and check out the Edit Ship Classes and then Edit Ships button. The editor manual will explain what the various values in the Ship Class and Ship entries mean.
As a rule, any warship traveling 20 knots or faster would have to be very unlucky to even be attacked by a submarine.
As for the bump, the creators of Carriers at War are all Australians, and thus we were probably all asleep when you asked your original question, assuming that you're posting in the US.

yep, big time ssg fan, love to u all... caw looks super.. although I was suprised with the 2d images in the detailed battles but that matters little to me... thanks, will look atthe yammato and others and see why it sank, one sub hitting it shouls only flood a compartment unless it was one lucky strike.
? is there a randum super critical hit function that may have caused this?

There's no equivalent of a critical hit as such, but the damage routines are dynamic. So a single hit could cause slight damage, slight damage plus fire which is quickly extinguished or if you are unlucky enough, a single hit can cause fire damage that spreads throughout the ship and eventually sinks it. Although this is unlikely, it did happen once to me and it was checked out by the programmer and found to be kosher.
Just to underline that point. A single hit can sink a ship. There are many people playing the game amd many attacks in a single game, so even unlikely events will happen, at some time, to some people. When it happens to you, try to recall the times when multiple hits on your ships caused minimal damage. I had a destroyer swallow six bombs before sinking, again unlikely but possible, and each bomb on the DD was one that wasn't hitting my carrier, so it was doubly lucky for me.

For sure, like my 17s at coral sea hitting the Hosho! SWEET.. I am sure the modders will be at it giving us some great "What Ifs", I was able to test my use the early war jap BB theory.. but agaisnt a human I am not sure it would work, the basic premise is every plane sent against the jac BC BBs is one less aginst the fragile jap carriers. thanks again....
