Yes, hover for a few seconds and you get tool tips. I think you can even change the length of time you need to hover before a tip will pop up (or fade in as it is).

I took a look at the manual again, you can't change the speed at which the tool tips appear, but there are indeed plenty of tool tips.

OK. Thanks for doing that, I appreciate it. How do you like the game so far?

I was able to get in the tutorials, 1 Pearl Harbor Scenario as the Japanese, and 5 plays of Coral Sea as the US, I enjoyed every minute of it. Waiting for those morning sighting reports to come in will put you on the edge of your seat.

Cool! I am on the edge of buying it since the Support forum is dead on this so far. That's a good sign. It sounds as though the 6 included scenarios are quite small. How do you feel about replayability?

Way too early to conclude anything definite about replayability I would think.

After running through 6 scenarios, I'd say replayability looks decent because the AI varied its tactics quite a bit. Playing Coral Sea 5 times in a row, I never felt that I could play the scenario the same way every time. No 'send the carriers here' as my opening move and wait to spot the enemy in a certain spot everytime. Throw in multiplayer and the scenario editor and the game should have some legs I would think.

Thanks again for the reports. I have been playing WitP. I just read a post from a guy that said "playing WitP is like doing his tax return." Boy can I relate! That was funny. I may give this new game a try but I am still not quite convinced it's worth $50.

That post made me chuckle too.

I've never played WitP, though have experienced other titles in the past that felt more like labor than entertainment.

As mentioned, there are comprehensive tooltips with options to control their verbosity or turn them off altogether when you no longer need them.
