pursuit radius question

I am wondering how the pursuit radius option works when making a mission. Does it work for AAW missions and what happens if you leave it on 0 nm?

In one scenario I have an AAW Patrol and my aircraft are traveling 100 nm away to ID aircraft with a pursuit radius of 0 nm.

ASW Mission Pursuit Radius

There has been a change made to the mission creation dialogue regarding anti-submarine warfare missions. There is a new field called the 'Pursuit Radius'.

When an ASW mission is created, the program engine throws up an ASW exclusion zone to mark off the 'turf' that the platforms assigned to that mission will cover. This prevents friendly subs from entering (or leaving) this zone and thus confusing the tactical picture leading to a possible friendly fire incident. However, units detected outside the ASW patrol area were never invistigated even if they were in weapons range. The prusuit radius is the value (in nautical miles) that the ASW exclusion zone is expanded to take into account any of those targets that are close to the patrol area. In effect, the value virtually expands the patrol area by the number of nautical miles specified.
The pursuit radius affects ASW missions only.

Hope this helps,
Jeff
