US Carrier VPs

Just looking: Saratoga / Lex are worth 255 VPs, Enterprise / Yktwn / Hornet are 150. Why might the Sara / Lex be worth so much more?

I wonder if the value is based upon some durability rating due to the BC class armor?

It must be, because the Lex / Sara certainly weren't superior as pure carriers.
