hmmm and another

in real life, after the bombers based in Norway, got there head handed to them, the idea of keeping forces in Norway to attack the north of England, sort of lost favor, and shortly afterward they were transfered to France and joined the other forces there

other then some recon, anti-shipping and air defence units

so, the questison is, for BoB41, should X FK be kept in Norway, or should they be moved to France instead, leaveing the bases open, so if the player wants to use them, they can shift forces back on there own ?

oh, just in case, I am the one voteing for the odd statement, if I don't then the vote does not show up when I come back to look at it, I vote for the odd one, then it don't throw off the vote for the real ones
 

Use a historical main scenario with combat units still in Norway and an optional scenario with these units tranferred (or on the way) to France.

BTW: Did they really had A-4 in Norway?

Well, KG 30 had 88s, and were for the most part based in Norway, depending on time
 
not sure which model they had, but our 88 is pretty much all of them

Ju88A-4s...as they were the main variant of the Ju88As

Parts of KG26 and KG30 where used in an anti shipping role. I just don't know when they started. Perhaps only parts of the X Fliegerkorps should be availible ?

as is the case with some of the KGr's and KG 40 also

Best "Story" for a BoB 41 would be that Hitler doesn't go the Napoleon way(Can't fight them directly so I fight them indirectly).
He sticks to his plan of an invasion, Delays Russia to 42 and keeps up(maybe even raise)the pressure in Africa.

So I would go for this:
-Move the units that went to Russia to France
-Remove the units that went to Africa
-Keep units that stayed in Norway in 41 were they were stationed historically

well, that is part of the hassle

the units in Norway in 41 are pretty much defence or recon

in 1940, the units for the attack on England had already been moved back to France

see, that is sort of like the trouble with the 1940 OOB, there are alot of Stukas down with Luft3, but they had been there for the beginning of the channel battle, and right after the start of the game, they were to be moved back to Luft2, so the range was shorter (with Luft3, they were attacking shipping, with Luft 2, they were to attack land targets)

also, once the Stukas move north, so do most of the fighters in Luft3

plus out of the scope of the game, units are also going to be pulled back to defend Germany or change into new kinds of units

the units in Norway in 41 are pretty much defence or recon

if it is a what if without Russia than there should be several units in Norway - all of the Luftflotte 5

those are in place to attack the shipping to Murmansk, not for the attack on England or the defence of Norway

and as the Stukas are already in Finland, they are for the battle in the east

overall, you got some Staffels of seaplanes, a few Staffels of bombers and a Gruppen of Fighters (with a replacement/training Gruppen of Stukas) with some recon birds

about what I said


and even then, not much real striking power
