End of RHS Primary Development: Cid is leaving

In about 24 hours I will go on vacation with my daughter. BEFORE then RHS development as we have known it will end.
I will attend a meeting about designing Strait Crossing (China invades Taiwan) - and what software to use - in Seattle.
Otherwise I will be engaged in human testing of RHS. Expect the first turn of the Tag Team game within about 10 days.
We may proceed to code the pwhex for Cobra's Winter Map - but that will not change anything players care about in their ongoing game files - and it will remain optional (this ONLY for level 7). IF that works, we might do a summer/monsoon map - same - no impact on game play.
We are considering an AI mod - but frankly I don't think it is worth it - players who use AI are doomed to horrible play. Tests show it cannot route ships, plan any sort of proper construction of facilities, run the economy, change commands of units on a rational basis, name it. But if there is enough demand - we might. That will NOT change the other scenarios.
We are considering a 1942 mod - but again only if there is demand might it happen. It might appeal to the Allies to start after Midway - but why would it appeal to the Japanese???????
We will be out of reliable communication for about a week. We may appear - but be patient - we may not.

Have a great time, Sid.
After not looking at WITP for over six months, I must say that I found the degree of change incredible. Great job! The first big impression was, of course, the level 7 map. Incredible. I've looked at CVO and EOS so far, and the results of your work are terrific!
Thank you.

I got 8 pages of eratta reports - and fixed them all in about 8 minutes. [The revised official Matrix Editor is wonderful for lining up classes and ships - which we used to do one at a time - or aircraft and air groups]. All indications are that we can wrap this up today. Blitzk will look for eratta I am sure (he always does) while I am down and away. So we may do an update - if any of it matters. NOTHING in the 8 pages was significant - most of it self correcting (at a cost in supply or HI points) or just an old armament vice a new one (this gun vs that one).
I have gained about 14 hours - so wrapping - testing and packaging.
Expect revised pwhex files to follow the data files.
Cobra is about 60% done with Japanese plane art - so there will be two releases simultaneously:
x.643 comprehensive
x.75 micro update (to be used AFTER Cobra releases revised Japanese plane filmstrips - standard and EOS)

Have a great vacation Sid!!!
The internet will probably speed up by a factor of at least 2x during your time off (due to increased bandwidth availability)[:D][;)]

I am STILL entering USN LSTs. To the extent these get added/corrected properly - the credit is due to AKWarrior - who did exhaustive research (until he got sick of it) - and I have several times done data entry (I must do it 18 times over remember) to the point of getting sick of it. There are really too many of them for game balance - which I suppose was the point (we did want to win the war after all). There were numbers missing from non-RHS - not merely for lack of data entry time - but because there were not sufficient slots to add them. We freed up slots by combining landing craft, PCs, MSWs and MTBs - which is why we have the option to add them at all. We also added numbers of landing craft of various kinds - but nothing like this.
I am noting in testing a problem with USN LSTs which should not exist (according to Matrix programmers): Sometimes they show up as 1/1 speed - other times as 2/1 speed ships. Being 11 knot ships, they should show up as 2/1 - but often do not. If we can figure out why, Matrix might be able to fix it. [Busted engines??? IRL LSTs were too slow - but this is rediculous!]

I have a new system (portable) running - if I can only get the art! -
and meanwhile Blitzk has redone our leader file
Cobra says he will probably release the Japanese plane filmstrip tomorrow
and I a few eratta have been identified
the new plane art requires changing two aircraft pointers
the ships have two art pointer issues
there are one to three other issues need correcting (because of forum reports or Blitzk testing)
so we will probably do a final file release tomorrow - and freeze it for the duration
