When the Engineers move into it the minefield still explodes and when a unit goes there it also still explodes.
Is this how it works? thanks

There will be a bang, but the engineers & mine clearing tanks should not take any damage or become disrupted. 
 
Infantry & tanks can be damaged & disrupted, but this is percentage roll.  Mr. Jason is working ob a patch to fix the engineer/minefield problem.
