Question, can the Japanese request, politicaly, for the road to be closed after the US "re-opens" the road using option 24, I think?

As I recall, the sequence is:
Burma Road open
[Allies send resources to China]
Japan closes it politically
US opens it politically
[Allies send resources to China]
Japan closes it militarily
Allies reopen it militarily
[Allies send resources to China]

Further Question regarding Japanese options.
I seem to remeber in the dim and distant past that once the US had imposed the oil embargo on japan, shutting off all Japans oil from US and NEI, there was an option for the Japanese to demand the oil from the NEI restoring some of this supply (at a cost of us entry). I've just looked through the rules (CWif version and couln't find any reference to it) I noticed that this was reflected in the CWif game as well.
Does any one know when/why it was changed or am i looking in the wrong place? or did I just dream it [:)]
Cheers
Dale

I didn't start playing WiF until after that rule passed into the mists of the past. So I can't help you. But it definitely is no longer a part of WiF.

This looks like one of the house rules proposed in the LiF annual (in... 1998, I guess). It never made it to RaW.

On the Burma Road:
- it is open by US action (9 Roll): resources to China
- it then can be closed by Japan either politically (6 US entry roll) or physically by extending a ZOC on it (no US entry roll)
- if closed politically: the US can force a reopen (24 roll). Alternatively, US being at war with Japan cancels a political closure. After this reopening, Japan can only force the closue by physically closure
- if closed physically: no US entry option can force the reopening
