I have the same problem even after updating Adobe Reader 8.  Two workarounds.

1.  Go into the GoA directory and double click on the manual file.

2. Start Adobe and then navigate to the file through "Open File".

With adobe 8.1 I can no longer open documents from the game screens, have to use the command on the start screen or open Adobe to do it.

Did you uninstall all previous versions of Acrobat Reader before upgrading to 8? If not, that can cause issues.

Won't start from the menu either. Only the two workarounds do it for mw.

I like to print out the manual. Most of the matrix game shipped with a printable version of the manual, but this one did not. Anybody know anyway to remove the brown shading on the pages when printing?

This seems to be an ongoing theme/problem/issue for games released through Matrix.  I suspect that most of us who go for the digital download only would prefer manuals with no background.  Backgrounds just eat up printer toner.  And when I'm reading a manual online it adds nothing and is just a distraction.  I'd like to see Matrix offer manuals w/no background for the digital downloads.  Leave the background for those ordering the hardcopies.

Unfortunetly, from what I remember of the discussion when this same issue came up in the recently released Carriers at War, a non-backgrnd version was provided, but Matrix also said "this was the last time".

It the manual coming out light brown when printed or a light shade of grey?

Cause you can set your printer to only print in black and white.....

We will release a hotfix soon, also for the game menu PDF issue.

Actually a print friendly one should have been provided with this release, apparently somebody forgot to put it in the package. We will put it in the hotfix.

I prefer ordering digital downloads, and appreciate the manuals with the watermark backgrounds (I'm not interested in the ones without). The best service is for Matrix to continue providing both, as this solution caters to all.

Don't worry we will provide both.
