Database Questions

Okay, it appears that somehow, somewhere, during all the fiddling I've done with this PC over the years, that I have erased my database drivers. No ODBC or JDBC drivers appear to exist on my PC, so I can't play with the Maximum Football databases and all (yeah, yeah, I know, David doesn't recommend playing with them, but...)

Can anyone recommend a relatively hassle-free site where I can get new drivers?

If you figure it out, I'd like to know how those drivers and files managed to get uninstalled. I know of at least two other players that ran into the same (or very similar) situation and I was unable to figure out what happend to make their DB drivers and files go away.

To reinstall, you might try this;

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=6c050fe3-c795-4b7d-b037-185d0506396c&displaylang=en

I do not know if that will solve the problem but it may be a start.

You might also try just reinstalling the game (the full version, not one of the updates).

Just a thought. I'm afraid I'm unable to help beyond that because I don't know how those files managed to get lost.

Yayyyy, it works!!!

Okay... how I ended up deleting my ODBC drivers was an extreme case of blatant stupidity caused I believe, by too little food and too little sleep one particular day. Long story short, I ended up uninstalling MS Office when I had no way to restore or reinstall it.

When recounting the story to the IT guy at work, he gave me the "Exactly How Stupid Are You?" look.

Unless the other folks you're referring to, David, have a room-temperature IQ such as myself, it's unlikely they did the same bonehead move I did.

SNAFU there for most of us. [;)]
