I too would like to have the boxed version when available particularly if it includes a manual.

Here's a quote from Matrix with respect to this:
ORIGINAL: David Heath

If you want both the digital download version and the box version DO NOT ORDER anything until that option is available on Wednesday July 25. WE CAN NOT CHANGE YOUR ORDER.

Original thread is readable here.

Well I guess since I ordered the game on July 25th before they added the Box version option and I didnt read through the Matrix forum on the game prior to ordering then I am screwed.... I wouldnt have thought that offering the boxed version to the digital purchasers for the extra $10 would not have been a problem. Nice customer support, thanks Matrix.

I'm sorry Jestre, but this is how it has always been with our releases. The store is not setup to offer boxed "upgrades" except as a manual process that we simply can't deal with on every release. We've made this clear for all our releases in the past as well. Our intention was for this to release on Wednesday with digital and boxed versions all available once we found that the boxed versions would have to be delayed, but as noted earlier a mistake at DR put the digital version live early on Monday and left us with no choice on the matter.

Then might I suggest in the future putting the message on the order page and not in the forum. I actually reloaded the order page twice and also checked the Canadian order page to see if there was a boxed version being offered, seeing none it simply did not occur to me to investigate further. Furthermore offering a boxed version upgrade to digital purchasers seems like a no brainer as far as a customer service goes.... just my opinion of course....

It's been discussed many many times before Jestre. I'm still not absolutely clear as to why Matrix cannot provide a simple upgrade option.

I agree, though, that it would make sense to have the warning ON the ordering page rather than buried in the forum.

Part of the prob I suppose is Matrix customers (a fairly loyal bunch) tend to know this is the case, btu I agree it isn't common knowledge to all.

We can't provide it precisely because it _isn't_ simple under the hood. We _want_ to provide it and we've worked hard to make even the occasional manual process possible, but the store cannot normally handle this and DR have not been able to make the necessary upgrades to automate this. We do not unfortunately have the staff to handle the process manually on each title so we've reserved that option for cases like Forge of Freedom, where we announced that it would be our first game with printed manual after people had already made the digital download vs. physical order decision.

All the same, Erik, it may be useful to put it on the ordering page for people that do not frequent Matrix Games quite so often or, if for no other reason, clarification.

I admit, once you know, then you know...but it doesn't help first time buyers posting it in a thread in a newly released game where there are so many new threads to read.

You really really need to include the info as part of the ordering process.  Seems a total no-brainer to me, otherwise you are guaranteed to irritate customers not in on the secret.
