OK -

We had a problem with an air squadron not present on Lex or Sara

We had some problems with command assignments

And we have discovered that up to six squadrons may be present on a carrier -

so we have redone a number of USN and IJN carrier groups (and need to to at least two more USN change sets related to night fighters - the prototype being done already)

We also are experimenting with changing VTN-xx squadrons to night fighter status - since they were not torpedo planes but radar hunters

And we are validation testing five and six squadron CVs - which are more historical than any previous form of WTIP

There are also some art problems - there must be a new RHS standard ship art release to fix Soviet sub art-

and we may need to get a new early form of Colorado back into the art set --

EDIT: No - it was right - WITPQS had wrong art - although the issues he spotted with Soviet Subs mean we have to reissue the standard art set. But I must repoint Colorado at bitmap 181 - and later classes as well - since 400 is the wrong class!

This should all be clear in the next day and we will release the file set - and hopefully be able to freeze and move on.,

But the point of looking hard is to find what is wrong - so we are being successful. This is going to end up a very clean data set.

Reworking some devices to insure airborne unit equipment flies:

Allied pack Howitzer load cost reduced. Japanese 37mm load cost reduced.

OTH Japanese pack gun load cost increased, do to the need for ammunition it was a bit more of a burden than it seems.

The only thing preventing issue of 7.758 (and 6 and 5) is art pointers. As soon as I have a sense of this we will issue it.

The art package on the RHS site - listed as "EOS ship art" - previous to the standard RHS ship art package - works with out pointers. I will reset Colorado to these pointers and issue 7.758. In "5-6 days" we will have a revised set of standard art to these pointers - and it can be loaded into a game in progress. Our data files were right - the bitmaps somehow were in the wrong order to line up with them. In this case the art was handled by several persons at widely different locations - it can happen.

Converted the class file back to the original art pointers (almost) - and issued the set. This involves much development of carrier air groups - now we know they can have six squadrons - and carrier night fighters for USN. It may improve some device loadings - increasing some - decreasing some - for consistency - and impact on airborne ops. Otherwise the few moderately important eratta were corrected - we may have everything critical in place - and we will try to freeze development and proceed to testing once again.
