Looking for a new game. Which one to choose?

I was ready to buy American Civil War until Guns of August became available. My main criteria is a game with an as good as it can get AI. Dial up is my only option so good solitare gameplay is a necessity. Eye candy means nothing to me, the gameplay is what matters most. I always use GoA's native resolution and if it's a good game I can learn to use the interface so those issues do not concern me.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I own both Forge of Freedom and ACW and I can say they are both marvelous games. I'm not the best person to ask about AI, though, because I simply play the game and I do not have the memory to remember what the AI did and how to exploit it, nor do I go looking. I play my game and if the AI is able to put up a challenge, then it's good enough for me. As far as I personally am concerned, both thos games mentioned have good AI for me. Someone who digs into AI may have other thoughts.
I do have Guns of August and played it for a few hours yesterday and I enjoyed what I played immensely. The interface is a little quirky purely because I've not played that interface before. The screen resolution doesn't phase me...I'm playing in a window and it's fine. Besides, he (Frank) is already working on allowing other resolutions. A beefier manual could've been a plus as would another zoom out level. But overall, it's a bargain at £20.
If I only had money for one and with what I know now, I'd probably go for ACW for content, atmosphere and depth. TBH, that isn't to say the other are inferior...simply if I had to make a choice. But given the money for all 3, I would certainly buy all 3 again. They are good additions to your game chest.
Also, this is the only WWI game out there. I don't know what it is...but I certainly get the feeling I'm in WWI when I play it.
Rereading this, it isn't much help...but the decision is yours, as they say.
Thgis is definitely worth your money...but then, so are so many others!
