Overstacking and ill effects?

During the deployment phase as the Central Powers I have managed to cram 14 stacking points into the Ardennes. The manual states that only 12 points are allowed in forest hexes. Are there any ill effects to overstacking?

I dont' recall - I think artillery might generate more casualties in an over stacked hex.

IIRC you'll also find that units will magically jump out of that hex into an adjacent one that has room for them before you move - and you dont' know which one (or ones) will do so before hand, so you're not gaining any advantage.

Take advantage of it while you can. [;)]

I do allow temporary overstacking.  But artillery barrages against overstacked units is increased and during the retreat segment units will find a less crowded hex if available.

Thanks, Frank.

Interestingly, on the CP side, in the 1914 scenario, Krasnik (A-H, Krakow) starts overstacked.

If you deploy a corps out of his hex, it cannot be re-deployed back in.

Hi Doktor,

Also (again, interestingly enough) Luxembourg (14, 12) is considered a town.

(Although it is marked on the map as a forest.)
