I set up a server successfuly(play & serve). My friends came into the lobby with out problems...selected their ship....came into the server. However, once inside, the were only in Observer Mode.

Is there a quick key command to get out of this, is it a bug, or did miss something[&:] Can someone please advise. Thanks for your time.

have you verified you are using a multiplayer game?
 
it may seem simple but could be overlooked by a rookie.
 
they should have the option of selecting a playable ship.
