Austria surrenders Mar 1915 – AI weakness?

I admit I was playing on normal difficulty and there was quite a few nail biting moments when I thought France was gone but ultimately Germany did nothing as the Russians smashed their way to Vienna. Surely there should be a simple AI routine rushing Germans into a central power capital when threatened?
I refuse the believe I’m some sort of military genius so this really should be tweaked in the next patch
Oddly enough the entente is still at – 49 victory points so perhaps I’m not winning at all?

Frank Hunter has specifically said the game AI is at it's best when defending and at it's worst when fighting as CP on multiple fronts.
He stated he wanted to put extra time into the AI, but couldn't justify it being as he wasn't absolutely certain he could get it any better.

Bite your tongue my good man, I'll never write an AI that cheats because a big part of what makes it interesting is writing an AI that works under a "fog of war" situation. The AI makes guesses.
The AI is best on defence and at its worst as Germany when fighting on multiple fronts. I would have liked another 6 months or so to work on how the German AI prioritizes but I couldn't really justify that to myself being as I didn't know for sure if I could improve it.

Thats the same problem as I had with the AI when I played the TE except I just went striaght for Berlin.
The AI was great as smashing France but I short of cheated in a way by sending over Industrial points from Britain to let the Russsians purchase offensives. The idea being that the CP would have to remove forces from the western front i order to halt the Russians. The trouble was it didn't do it soon enough and I was in artillary range of Berlin by the time it had sufficent forces to stop me.
I'm playing as the CP and its a lot harder since its Dec 1917 and both France and Austia are exhausted and Germany has had to do all the fighting resulting in almost exhaustion. I made the mistake of also moving my forces from the western front too early and not finishing off France so its a thin line between getting it right and losing Berlin. The problem in the west is that as soon as France is about to fall the British Empire trrops start arriving.
I agree though that the AI should protect high value locations better since they have such a large factor on morale.
BTW -49 is great for the TE if its positive the CP are winning.

Sounds like upgrading the CP AI would be a great idea for a patch.
