I must be a bigger dunce than I thought...

I've downloaded the new 3.09 (and the multimedia pack), installed them (I think) into the data folder and I can't seem to get it to work. The game acts as if it isn't there. Do I need to do some comp-wizardry to any files before/after they go into the data folder?

Thanks in advance.

Did you download the easy install?  If so, just make sure you unzip it and the multimedia pack to the data folder.  If you did it right, you should have a new system.xbg file that replaced your original and you should have a data\beousound and data\gui.new folder.

I'll be releasing 3.10 tomorrow which will add more stuff along with personal shield generators.

I went back and re-installed UFO as I wasn't sure where I was concerning a clean install with/without mods. Followed your instructions and it worked. Go figure. BTW, downloaded 3.10 and it rocks.

One question I'd like to ask: How do you adjust a soldier's aim up or down levels? I had a Ethereal on the first battle and I had to let reaction shots kill it, fortunately he shot worse than my guys did. [&o]

Thanks Bman!

Found the mouse wheel command. Printed off that page, which means I'll have it memorized any day now.

you can also click the little alien head in the bottom right of the screen to center the camera on the alien.

Help please. I have installed 3.14 and the multimedia mod 3.10. The game runs fine except for the strategic map. I can zoom in and out but every time I try to rotate the globe I get "logfile crash070802_105xxx.text" with the xxx being a different number each time it crashes to desktop.

I have used both versions of the mod with the last attempt being the easy instal version.

The last time I updated the Bman mod was "Bman_UFO_Mod_2_11_Easy_Install". Was I supposed to load the mods inbetween?

Master Chief,

I had this. It was caused by the patch not being installed.

You need the official 1.1 patch for BMan's mod to work. It should be installed before the mod I think. In my case I had downloaded and thought I had patched the game. But for whatever reason the game was unpatched and I got exactly the same sort of crash when I tried to turn the globe with the modded game.

So check that you both have the patch and it has installed.

I have to tell you Bman, that you should be getting royalties from sales of the game...you have done more than the original developers to make this a fantastic gaming experiece....thanks!!

Hi all,

I downloaded the 3.0 patch and installed it.
The game boots up and I can play the game but I have not seen anyway to actually mod anything.
Did I miss something.

I will try again later tonight.
I tried to download the easy patch (4.02 I think) but the file would not unzip properly.
The text file would unzip fine but the other file would error out with an unknown compression error.
Any clues?

There is no "3.0" patch.

Anyway if you have a corrupted zip then you had a bad download.  Clear your internet cache and download it again.  All zips have been verified.

Look in this thread at the bottom for some detailed instructions on what to download and how to install it:

Hi,

Sorry it was not 3.0 but long story short, I got 4.07 up and running.
WOW what a great mod.

Are you taking bug reports?
If so, I think that I found one.

I started a game where my soldiers can't die.
I also elected to turn on the older era aliens.
During a mission, one of my guys was attacked by a Chryssalid and turned into a zombie.
I had to kill the zombie and when the mission was over, the game crashed.

Anyway, thanks again for a great mod.

Post bug reports at www.ufo-scene.com and if you get a crash like that, try and post the contents of the crashlog which can be found in your UFOET folder.  Hopefully you have enabled the option which autosaves the game during combat every X turns so you didn't loose too much progress.
