a couple items I'd like to see in a future patch/update....
1) display/update national/sea borders on the minimap. Maybe thats just me, but I'd like to see'em. Helps me get my bearings...
2) Next/back buttons that go through HQs that have activation points. Actually a next/back button would be useful in lots of places. Like when refitting, etc.
This game is definitely growing on me...

...wish I had more time to play it....

Speaking of maps, I'd love the ability to scroll the map by holding a left-click with the mouse.

A possibility to change settings during a game would be helpful especially when playing the AI (to change sides)

Refitting corps via the map would definitely be convenient. Considering we can currently refit HQs in this manner, I don't imagine it would be too difficult to implement--but what do I know?

Purchasing Units Info

When purchasing forces, it would be helpful to be given information on when they'll arrive prior to purchasing them. Failing that, at least an option to undo the last unit purchase made.

- Most of all : NATO symbols for the counters.
- Very much needed : Tutorials.
- Zoomable maps.
- Scrollable maps with the mouse wheel & Shift + mouse wheel (for sideways). The way it is done right now is quite awfull IMO.
- More explanations on the "Continue" button, to say what there is after that.

Also, I regret that Aviation is treated this way.
I would have prefered it being available for the player with units that would be given missions rather than with an abstract "points" system.

It's WW1, not WW2 - THE mission in WW1 was recce - 90% of the air effort was aimed at protecting your own artillery spotters and photo planes (once they started) and shooting down the other guy's ones.
Many of the horror stories you read about "Bloody April" and hte like occured because the RFC always tried to fight on hte German side of hte lines - that way they tried to attack the German 2-seaters before they could perform their missions, and also the German fighters before they could attack the RFC's 2-seaters. Of course without radar it was a pretty optimistic hope, but it was sound thinking.
Strategic bombing and tactical air support achievedsquat.
The GOA system is right on the money for historical effect and is also simple and elegant.

Yes, but I miss not having counters for those squadrons.

- Seing units on the minimap, just to know where they are all globaly positionned without being forced to use the Overall map.

- Having a flag somewhere visible on the screen that reminds you which country you are managing in the Strategic phase.
Edit 1 : Or, rather than the "select nation" button, have radio buttons that you click to change nation, and that show you which nation you are deciding for.
Edit 2 : This "Select Nation" thing is a mess. You never know what country you're managing at first glance, and it's a pain to all the time go ther to change the country. You should be able to change the country from within the dialogs that necessitate changing country, such as production dialog. Also, dialogs that are for the whole side should be named with the side's name, so that you do not try the same dialog with another country to discover that it is the same.

- I would like to have a screen showing me all the sea areas, and the missions & squadrons I ordered there. The Naval orders misses that.

The game is missing a game Log, where I could read about the last turns events.
I liked the events that appeared at the start of each turn, and it would be good if that could be accessed later during the game, with the game events added in another color so that you see what is from the game and what is from outside.

I would love to see Frank Hunter write a thorough explanation of all the intricacies of the game, all of the juicy morsels I want to learn about that simply are not explained in an organized way. The game seems to be great, but I know id enjoy it more if I knew more about it. Even if you could jot down a bunch of notes in a Word doc or something....I crave anything and everything.
