CD and direct download the same?

Forgive me, Harpoon history is somewhat overwhelming.
Traditionally, Matrix downloads and CDs are identical with the same PDF manual available as part of the download. (and in some cases the CD includes a hardcopy manual)
However, I am looking at the AGSI site and pre-Matrix Harpoon 3 had differences between download and CD (more content).
So, just to be clear is the Matrix CD and download versions the same or different?
Thanks.

Does anyone know the answer to this? Thanks.

MarkShot,
Without anyone from Matrix taking a stab at this, I'll have a go. I'd suggest the CD version is 3.7.0, which you then patch to 3.8.0. During this process your manuals are updated as far as I can remember. I know we waited to have an updated manual ready before shipping the 3.8.0 patch so that would be the main difference.
In terms of gross content, you don't get to pick up any "bonus" game material in one form rather than the other. Like you I'm just a tester and hope I've got this 100%, I'd have hoped someone from Matrix might have lent a hand providing some general support for you. If you have an real concerns I'll quiz AGSI about it for you.
Cheers
Darren

I have a freshly down loaded copy and that comes up as 3.7.0.0, which is a bit misleading in regards to MG promotion and associated wicki media mickies are concerned, which does an awful lot of banging on about 3.8 and winning of awards and improvements etc etc ....... oh well back to salt mine

Well, I got the CD. It consists of a single executable ZIP file... it appears to be identical to the download.
In other words, no use is made of the CD and in the age of broadband, it would be counterproductive to make 2 different files.
I'd still go for the CD in your shoes - next update is due in a couple of weeks so it's not like you'll be missing out.
