is there an explanation about the "house rules"? I don't find something in the FAQ.

House rules refers to things the game allows you to do but you consider them gamey and therefore you agree not to do them, for example a house rule would be not to use carriers for bombing inland units or cities but only the ones in coastal hexes. Hence IDG asking...
