Germany built a deep water canal that connected the North and Baltic Seas, which allowed their capital ships to transfer between the two without having to steam around the Denmark Penninsula. In game terms, this should allow ships based in Wilhelmshaven to run missions in the Baltic without being intercepted by the Royal Navy in the North Sea. This doesn't seem to be the case. If I try to send ships from Wilhemshaven to the Baltic, they get sunk by the RN. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a problem here?

This is in the first patch (due out very soon I believe) - I think it has been fixed.
