How dumb can I get?

Well I been playing this great game (if there was only a 2 player hot seat/internet/LAN version) and have not been able to figure out how you get Army Hq's till tonight when the light bulb went on.
I kept buying them and it would tell me there were X number in the reinforcement pool but it just dawned on me that you have to go to the support units tab and buy them....DUH thats pretty bad.
So I was wondering if there were any other "LIGHT GOES ON" moments that anyone else will fess up to. Mine was pretty stupid but I would love to hear some of the other little moments from other players.

Well I can't think of any others right now, but I had the same experience as you with the army HQ's [:)]

I've had my share, mainly with the naval aspects of the game, and a few of them have caused me to start new campaigns as soon as I realized I'd missed important aspects of the game. There is a hell of a lot of information to process in playing AACW and I think some of it has to be "dug out" over time. That's the greatest thing about the forums -- these and AGEOD's -- someone has always already figured a thing out and can advise about it.

You know, I think I had the same revelation about the army HQ's -- I was pulling my hair out waiting for the western commands to get one, then realized I had to actually BUY them out of their cubby-hole. Back to April '61 again! But now, being in fairly good confidence that I have a handle on everything, I enjoy this game about as much as any I've played.
