Oh, we're here Sir. Been a long holiday weekend for those of us across the pond. In the middle of a game so I haven't installed the patch yet. All that coupled with suffering from the worst cold I have had in 10 years......[&:]

By the way, Roger, I'm writing this while sitting on your side of "the pond," in Oxford. I'm here for a conference. I must say that after several weeks of 90-95 degrees in St. Louis, this cooler British weather is almost a miracle to me.

I noticed the same thing this afternoon (US Eastern time zone). I didn't have anything particularly insightful or clever to say at the time so I didn't bother to post anything either.[>:]

I spent a week in Michigan back at the beginning of August and I felt much the same way you do. It was a nice break after 4 months of summer!

I have nothing useful to say, but as a true forum member I will post something anyway if for no other reason then to boost my post count.

I am here now.  I was over there before.  But, I moved.  It seems wherever I go, there I am and there becomes here. Is that clear enough[&:]

Very funny.

I might as well mention that the dining hall at Christ Church where I'm having breakfast and lunch each day is the same one used to film part of the dining scenes set at Hogwarts (with the rest of those shots being made in a replica).

Sometimes it makes you wonder... if we're all just lurking and no one is posting, and many of us appear to be lurking, then what are us lurkers all reading anyway?

I'm not sure what the answer is, but I'm beginning to suspect that reading nothing is better than having Gil describe his holiday meal Regimen.  Sorry, but I am the jealous type.  [;)]

You've made it to 99 Yogi. Don't you wish you had a topic that would allow you to get just one more post so you'd hit 100? (Hint: This is a yes or no question). [:D]

Did you use the recipe Korrigan of AGEOD posted a few months ago?

Speaking of meals. As we are getting closer to Thanksgiving, I present you the "Bill of Fare", served in the I corps, Army of the Potomoc on Thanksgiving 1862 (it helps if you speak French):

Fresh oysters, not on the shell.
Green turtle soup, a la tin cin.
Leg of mutton, cut in capres.
Roast turkey, a la "Hard Tack", and cranberry sauce.
Sweet potatoes, aux cendres.
Haricots, farcis aux vents.
Riz, a la Dixie.
Pomme de terres, a la smash.

Canvasback ducks, au feu d'enfer, and current jelly.
Lobster salad, rather doubtful.

Mince pies, a l'essence de pommes.
Pumpkin pies, au New England rum.
Almonds-no raisins-apples.
Ginger, "hot in the mouth".
Fruit cake.

Coffee and whiskey.

Taken from Charles S. Wainwright's "Diary of Battle".
