It would be nice if the Event Report stated more than...
"General Rice killed in battle"

Rather...
"Union General Rice killed in battle"

Plus, ideally, it should say which unit (i.e. which division, corps or army) he was attached to, as players are likely to want to attach a new general to that unit.

Perhaps only your own generals should be reported due to FOW. You wouldn't necessarily know if a general from the other side has been killed or wounded.

Good point Drex! I think or at least a few turns you shouldn't know that the other side lost someone. Maybe 2-3 turns later to reflect what would probably be known from spies and the newspapers. I'd like to see some type of newspaper pop up with stuff like battles, or generals that were hurt etc. You could also read about which cities were taken etc. Something to add to the wish list.

That leads me to another question: if a unit leader is killed, does the unit suffer a morale loss?
