Strikeouts out of hand again...

I'm running a replay association - it was started in 2006 and now I'm in 2007. I had this problem before and sent the association in, but no one had any ideas as to what was going on. I'm forty some games into this season - things looked fine last season - and Scott Olson of Florida has 124 Ks in 10 games. There are many other pitchers that are striking out batters at an alarming rate, too.

In the 2007 draft, how many scrubs entered the association? How many ended up on starting rosters?

Things look to be in order - no one has anyone with single digit abilities (on a 1-100 scale) starting in the major leagues. I have noticed that there are quite a few players with 60/30/50 sort of abilities who are hitting around .175. I turned the strikeouts down to 33 on the advanced engine settings and we'll see what happens from here. Jonathan Broxton of the Dodgers has 250 Ks in 100 innings, and his abilities are 96/100/79.

I figured it out.
You are using the "ratings change in season" option and that looks to be the root of the problem. This one actually slipped my mind, as it was a known issue!
I will look into fixing it this weekend (or removing that pesky option altogether!)
Sorry for the trouble!

I really like the "ratings change" option - I liked having minor leaguers mature midseason - but if it is going to continue to cause problems then maybe it has to go...

Been doing some detailed analysis this AM, so hope is not lost yet. I am going to attempt to perfect it.
