Are there ANY games here that can be downloaded to a computer in Iraq. There are several I would like to purchase for download but I keep getting the dialog "cannot be downloaded in your country.
That is rather disappointing...
I am an American
I am paying American money
I am here trying to help fix a real mess
Just want to relieve some tension with a couple of good games.
Any Suggestions?

Mike,
Which sub-store were you purchasing from? I'll inquire with DR on Monday what we can do about this. It's certainly not our intention to prevent our troops from downloading our games.

I am here trying to help fix a real mess
Well...trying to help fix a real mess created by a bunch of reckless, neo-con gamblers through the agency of the worst US administration in living memory cooking up a bunch of crap about WMD and non-existent links to 9/11 would be a more accurate description. And I'm abiding by forum rules. That's not political. That's historical fact.
Good luck and I hope you get your downloads. You guys are doing the best job you can and you deserve some relaxing down-time. I hope you and your buddies get back to your loved ones in one piece man.
Cheers, Neilster

Everything I said is historical fact. Let someone show me where I'm wrong.

Why? Are they inconvenient? If you think I'm wrong, please elaborate. I'm a big boy. I can handle a debate. Also, I served my country during this "War on Terror" and could easily have gone to the "Big sand pit", so I have a personal interest.
Cheers, Neilster

Neilster, cut it out. Your comment is definitely political and also by its tone looking for trouble. You can go have that discussion elsewhere. This thread is about a customer seeking some support.

Maybe there's a time and a place for this? Which isn't here and now. The man posted with a legitimate technical problem, not an invitation to a political discussion, which we don't do around here. You know that...

Carter's admin was so bad we actually had a misery index. Either way, your comment a fact? Nope.
cooking up a bunch of crap about WMD
Want to show me where it was cooked? Being wrong does not equal cooked. Fact? Again, nope.

What links to 9/11?

No, you're not abiding by forum rules. You wrote a political hit job full of opinion with hardly a fact to be seen.

If you want to have the debate, then go to madcow's and have it. You know damn good and well that's where the debate about this stuff is to be had.

As I said, that'll be enough from everyone. Take it to Mad Cow's if you want to continue, or wherever, as long as it's not here.

Without wishing to put a political viewpoint myself here, I think it only fair to point out that though ironmike 775 is a customer seeking advice about purchase, the wording of his request did rather invite a response. It was not "neutral" as a request, unless you accepted the phrasing used. I don't think it right to blame Neilster for making a political point. The topic starter had already done so. He could have easily just have asked for help, without the sundry explanation. That said, I hope he manages to get hold of a few copies of some matrix games, and wish him a safe return.

"Inviting" a response doesn't automatically mean that one should respond...

I disagree. Mike's comment about being in Iraq to fix a real mess doesn't actually take a side as far as what caused the mess, why, how, etc. It's part of his general support request, in that him being in Iraq is central to why the store may not be allowing him to purchase a title and him being there fixing a mess is what makes him want to do some gaming.
This discussion is closed folks, no politics of any stripe here, let's stick to gaming and what we all have in common.
